International medical consultation in China

What a Free Scan needs

First Assess
  • Condition or diagnosis direction
  • Country and expected travel time
  • Insurance or self-pay budget
  • Existing records, imaging, medications

Chinese healthcare is moving forward with higher capacity, faster throughput, and more options.

Whether to come to China shouldn't be judged on price alone -- what matters is whether China can offer your case faster diagnostics, clearer specialist opinions, verifiable cost ranges, and more treatment pathways.

Costs follow medical pathway, then range.

  • Hospital route -- public tertiary vs. private international
  • Medical project -- diagnostic vs. treatment scope
  • Insurance pathway -- direct billing or reimbursement

Service, specialist and hospital fees are itemized. Hospital fees are quoted as ranges only.

Advanced therapies require eligibility review first.

  • CAR-T cell therapy
  • BNCT, proton & heavy-ion
  • Genetic testing & pathology review
  • Multidisciplinary (MDT) consultation

Eligibility, scheduling and cost are finally confirmed by the hospital and physician.

What patients and families really care about.

Trust in cross-border care doesn't come from glowing reviews -- it comes from being able to break complicated questions down clearly. We usually start from these real decision points.

Second Opinion
"I already have a diagnosis, but I want to know if a Chinese specialist might see another possibility."

We organize records into a Chinese-language case brief and match a single specialist or MDT for review.

Speed
"I'm not just chasing cheaper -- I want to know if diagnostics and treatment can move faster."

We pre-verify imaging, biopsy and admission scheduling against your travel window before you commit.

Insurance
"I have international insurance -- but can I actually use it in China, and how do I confirm in advance?"

We coordinate with your insurer, verify direct billing networks and prepare Guarantee of Payment documentation.

Advanced Care
"CAR-T, BNCT, genetic testing -- am I even eligible to try?"

Eligibility is reviewed case-by-case with the treating institution before any travel commitment.

From a free assessment, to expert consultation, to in-China execution.

The Free Pathway Scan only answers "is China worth a closer look." Before record preparation and consultation begin, the service scope and fee structure are confirmed in writing.

In-China Medical Navigation

Once you decide to travel, we handle the logistics so you can focus on health.

  • Appointment scheduling & day plan
  • On-site escort & medical interpretation
  • Follow-up, referrals & discharge documents

When you should reach out first.

We protect your time, budget and medical privacy first. Not every situation needs to fly to China -- many questions can be assessed remotely.

Best to start with a Free Pathway Scan

  • Diagnostics, consultation or surgery wait times in your home country are too long.
  • You hold international commercial insurance and want to confirm China usability.
  • Oncology, hematology or complex disease -- looking for a second pathway.
  • You want a remote specialist evaluation before committing to travel.
  • High-net-worth, self-pay, or willing to pay for certainty.

Situations to evaluate carefully first

  • Current condition may not be suitable for long-distance travel.
  • You don't yet have basic records, imaging, or medication history.
  • You need emergency care but the patient is currently outside China.
  • You expect a definitive treatment outcome before any in-person consultation.
  • You are comparing only on lowest price, regardless of medical pathway.

Founder Story
"I lived through a major medical decision in my own family -- that's why I know patients don't need slogans. They need a clear, reliable, executable path."

Tim's wife Kayye was diagnosed at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital. That experience reshaped how we approach every case -- with respect for clarity, physician judgment, and executable arrangements over promises.

Service boundaries

MedCareInChina is not a hospital, does not diagnose, and does not guarantee outcomes. We help patients organize information, judge pathways, and connect to the right doctors and hospital processes.

The questions you ask most before traveling.

Is the Free Pathway Scan really free?
Yes. The Free Pathway Scan is always free of charge. Its purpose is to help you decide whether China is worth a closer look -- not to push you toward travel. We respond within 1-2 business days.
Do you make diagnoses?
No. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or determine treatment plans. All medical decisions are made by hospitals and physicians. We organize records, match specialists, and coordinate logistics so you can hear a physician's view directly.
At what stage do fees begin?
Fees begin at the Remote Expert / MDT Consultation step. Before any record preparation or specialist matching starts, we provide a written quote covering service fees, specialist fees and estimated hospital cost ranges.
Can my international insurance be used in China?
It depends on your insurer, plan, hospital network and treatment scope. We coordinate with your insurer to verify direct billing eligibility or prepare Guarantee of Payment (GOP) documentation. Final approval is decided by the insurer.
Why are medical costs only quoted as a range?
Hospital and physician fees depend on final exam results, treatment plan, length of stay and any complications -- none of which can be confirmed before evaluation. Service and coordination fees are quoted as fixed amounts; hospital fees are honest ranges.
Must remote consultation and in-China travel be done together?
No. Remote consultation can be a standalone service to help you decide. Many patients use it only to confirm whether traveling to China makes sense for their case. In-China navigation begins only after you decide to travel.
